Proposed Changes to BC Labor Relations

On Oct. 25, the provincial government posted the report from a panel of special advisors tasked with reviewing the Labour Relations Code. The full report contains 29 recommendations covering a wide range of topics such as union certification processes, dispute resolution, successorship, unfair labour practices, and arbitration procedures.

According to the government’s engagement website, the panel’s review focused on ensuring B.C.’s unionized workplaces are supported by fair laws for workers and businesses that are consistent with the labour rights and protections enjoyed by other Canadians.

The public is invited to review and submit feedback on the report until Nov. 30.  You can respond by email to LRCReview@gov.bc.ca
